Summer Internship 2015 - IIT Bombay, INDIA

To get an insight into the functioning of the data-centric application, I took my 2nd-year summer internship at IIT Bombay, Mumbai (one of the best technical institutes for research and development in India.)

Project title: Advanced Medical Data Acquisition System.

Project Duration: May 2015 - July 2015 (2 months)

Stipend: 15,000 INR/ 2 months

Technologies, I worked on: Web Framework of python: Django and Web Framework of JavaScript: AngularJS.

Mentors: Maryam Shojaei [personal webpage], Shreyans Gandhi [personal webpage]

During two months long internship, I along with three other colleagues of mine worked on

  1. HealthATM:

    • a machine which handles tasks like performing primary health checkups, allowing video calling to consult doctors and preserving health history of patients.

    • Primary checkups include BMI & Body Composition, Pulse Rate, Oxygen Saturation, Blood Pressure, Lipid Profile, Blood Glucose, Hemoglobin, 12 Lead ECG, IR Thermometer, Dermascope and Digital Stethoscope for the time being. Much more will be added in future.

    • Watch video [here]

    •

  2. yoloCare: "HealthCare at your doorstep."

    • Mobile healthcare providers(medicos) including doctors-nurses-physios-caretakers and much more to serve users on-site by just booking them from an application.

Whereas, I personally contributed on

  • Developed an admin dashboard with full access to handle data.

  • Applying the concepts of Deterministic Finite State Machine, the subject that I learned in my second-year curriculum, I created an error-free User Interface for the kiosk.

  • Collectively, this internship also improved my programming and development skills.

The best part about this project was that it was put to use for the society’s welfare. Currently, this machine is a flagship product of a community startup named YOLO Health [website].

They just got funded in Dec 2016 by Angels. [link]
